Roseville police were called Saturday afternoon to a local hair salon after a stylist reported a client was having suicidal thoughts.
Turns out, the client was a pre-op transsexual, or a man looking to become a woman. But that's not why he got the hairdresser's attention.
In the midst of having his hair dyed, he confided to the stylist he was there with a single purpose.
He wanted to look good in his casket.
The man said he planned to hang himself when he got home.
Distressed, the quick-thinking hairdresser waited until the client was occupied with wet dye covering his hair, and snuck over to a phone to dial police.
She asked officers for help. Cops quickly arrived and interviewed the man to make sure he was safe to be alone.
The Insider assumes they gave him options for handling depression. Officers left after he assured them he wouldn't harm himself.
