The Insider isn't sure whether to applaud or shake his head in disgust -- or admiration -- at the latest twist in the case of the fired Twitter ranter. Just so you're up to speed, Chrysler employee Scott Bartosiewicz of Ferndale was fired after dropping the "F bomb" into a company Twitter feed in a rant about inept Detroit drivers.
Bartosiewicz later apologized and said he meant to use his personal account to voice his displeasure the four-lettered-way, which coincidentally enough is also The Insider's favorite way to voice displeasure.
Just not on a Twitter feed, or on Chrysler's Twitter feed.
But Mr. Bartosiewicz's story doesn't end here, because his stint on the unemployment line was blissfully short.
Jon Witz, producer of the blowout Arts, Beats and Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak, was at a downtown bar recently when he struck up a conversation with a man he described as a “mellow, well-spoken gentleman.” When the man left, Witz was told he had just met the infamous Chrysler Tweeter.
Witz started running -- and not in the other direction. He stopped Bartosiewicz and offered him a job on the spot as a social media strategist. Witz said the young man gave off a good vibe. In the bar.
Apparently, The Insider's job-hunting friends are going about this all wrong.
Bartosiewicz will be responsible for continuing to build the annual summer festival’s presence online and increasing the number of contests on Facebook and Twitter. He will also develop an informational blog for the 2012 season to keep festival attendees up-to-the minute on the latest Arts, Beats & Eats news.
Hopefully, the F-word won't factor heavily into the marketing strategy.
